PWA Costa Teguise, day 2

Today competition started with skippers meeting at 10am. Wind was looking good, it was increasing all day and with the tide going down we also got some nice waves. Like I said yesterday, I sailed against Marcilio Browne in the first heat of single elimination and I lost. I was sailing very bad, the wind was still gusty and I was a bit confused what kind of moves should I do...Anyway I didn't have much chance against him. We saw some realy good heats afterwards, especially Steven Van Broeckhoeven made a big impreasion on everybody. Top 3-5 guys were sailing unbelivable sick. I shouldn't forget the girls. Girls showed good action aswell, especially Sarah Quita. She could compete with guys. Soon we started a double elimination. In first heat I got Levy Lenz from Brasil. I sailed super good so I advanced. Next one was the Italian raper Matia Pedrani, a very good sailor. I made some mistakes and I lost, but we were very close. I checked the sailing sheets and If I would make the toad, which I crashed when I rediciouslly lost the sail at the end, I would won. Slowlly I am getting my competition form so we will see what hapens tomorrow. Forecast looks even better and waves will be bigger aswell.

PWA Costa Teguise, day 1

Hey everybody!

Yesterday we had the opening ceremony with a nice welocome speach and delicious dinner and today was the first day of PWA freestyle event on Lanzarote. Registration was at 10am- 12am and skippers meeting at 1pm. The wind was around 11kts so we were waiting to get stronger. That didn't happen until 5pm so no competing for day nr. 1. Afterwards wind kicked in with strenght like 15kts and it was enough to have some fun and train for day nr. 2. Tomorrow the forcast looks much better so probablly we will see and make good action on the water. Elimination leader is already set, you can check it a few pictures down. I am against Marcilio Browne last year vice world champion. Small chances for me but I will do my best.

Lanzarote

First days on Lanzarote...on 24. and on 25. There was some light wind for 5.2 360 free and 100l RRD twintip. Most of the guys are already here waiting for wind but it shows it will start around 1. or 2. of july. World cup in Costa Teguise starts on 30. june so we will se how everything goes. Till now I was just sightseeing every day, exploring the secrets of nature on Lanzarote and chilling around. Some pics but no action....

EFPT-Alaçati/Turkey 2009

Hello, hello! I'm already on Lanzarote/Spain, but i have to tell u a little bit about European freestyle pro tour event which took place in Turkey. It was my first event this year and it was quite good start. We had 2 double eliminations, so it means also quite good wind. Every day I was sailing with 5.2 360 free-the loft and RRD twintip 100l, except last heat in second double the wind picked up so I took 4.7 360 free. First day I won against Adam Gavriel the Izraelian young talented gun then I lost against the winner of event Steven Van Broeckhoeven. In double in advanced in the next heat then I lost against Nicolas Akgaczyon. Next day the wind look better from morning already, so it looked we will made another double elimination, and it was like that. In single elimination I sailed against Edvan Souza, I lost because of few stupid mistakes. Wind didn't stop so double elimination was on. I got Domonk Kovarik who was also training in Jeri the same time as I. I advanced to the next heat. My opponent was Ruben Petrise I also beat him, I was realy on fire those 2 heats, next one was against Phil Soltysiak. Wind picked up and in competition area was around 50 people and they were making crazy chop. Just one mistake and you loose when you are close with somebody...and this mistake happened to me again. Overal after 2 doubles I finished on 8. place which is the best place I ever made in EFPT in my life. Good start better end they say... Enjoy n keep checking...

just to inform you... every week I will upload one freestyle move on my blog, so check it out and enjoy!

This week: TOAD

On 1.6. I went with my friend Matej to spot called Punat/ Croatia. It is situated on the south part of island Krk. The forecast was looking really good for evening and almost the whole day on 2.6. 2h and we were on the spot. 1.6. in the evening we just missed really cool session so I was sailing and pumping on 5.3 360 free and 90l twintip RRD. At around 10 pm the wind kicked in but it was dark.... whatever we turned the lights on the car and I showed some night action for the camera. The wind was picking up every hour. In the morning next day at 6 am the wind was blowing I think 30-40 kts. 4.3 lip wave and 90l twintip RRD was way to much and it was like that almost 2 h. After it dropped and picked up again in 1-2h for 4.7 360 free. The same story was going on until 5 pm when we hit the road. It was really cool day almost nobody on the water and great action.
